Jennifer HopkinsWhat’s my story? I am both a lawyer and an artist, which makes me a creative problem-solver with extensive leadership experience.  I see the world with both sides of the brain and use this adaptive capacity to serve diverse  settings.  I am a diplomat.

I have experience as director of grantmaking at the NH Charitable Foundation, where I partnered with major donors for powerful charitable giving and strategic philanthropy. I managed a multi-million dollar grant portfolio supporting nonprofit excellence in the arts and culture, health, environment, and other public affairs. I evaluated and revised foundation grantmaking policies in keeping with national best practices and an eye toward maximum impact in the community.

I was an attorney advising business owners and senior management formation and management of for-profit and non-profit companies. I negotiated complex deals for mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, e-commerce, business formation and succession planning.

I received my bachelor of fine arts from Rhode Island School of Design in 1987 and juris doctor law degree from Pierce Law in 1996. I am also an alumna of the Center for Whole Communities, building stronger connections among people, land and community.

I am also an artist, and you can learn more about my photographs here. I live in Canterbury, NH where I was elected Trustee of the Trust Funds. I was proud to be named a Conservationist of the Year by the Forest Society in 2005, and my homegrown garlic won a blue ribbon at the Hopkinton State Fair in 2007.
